OUR STORY
Dave spent nine years leading technical development at FLIT, the Cambridge startup behind a lightweight folding e-bike.
He began as the company’s sole designer and, as the product and team matured, moved increasingly into manufacturing - working through the supplier, process, assembly and quality decisions needed to turn an ambitious design into a repeatable product.
That transition exposed the gap Bamboo Bridge now helps clients bridge. The hardest problems began when the design met production: selecting the right processes and suppliers, understanding how welded, forged, cast and finished parts would behave, and creating a controlled build system at volumes too small for a large OEM.
Those years shaped Bamboo Bridge’s focus. We work with product teams when the challenge becomes how to make something well: production-focused DfM, technical sourcing, project management, quality control and flexible, data-led assembly.

Leah
CO-FOUNDER & OPERATIONS LEAD
Leah leads the day-to-day coordination that keeps projects moving between clients, suppliers and the Bamboo Bridge team.
Her understanding of Chinese business culture and supplier communication helps turn requirements into clear action on the ground, while keeping delivery transparent and responsive.
Small-scale, data-led manufacturing
Our flexible assembly space is built for early and lower-volume production. We use build data, traceability and controlled processes to learn quickly, protect quality and prepare projects to scale.
Bamboo Bridge is led by Dave and Leah, supported by a growing Shenzhen team spanning sourcing, project management, engineering, quality and assembly.
Together, we build the right team around each project - from early supplier decisions through to controlled assembly.

Dave combines a product developer’s perspective with practical experience of manufacturing in China.
After studying and working in China, he led the development of FLIT’s lightweight folding e-bike.
Today he helps clients shape manufacturing strategy and make informed decisions around processes, materials, DfM, DfA and production.
